a teacher's valentine

I am up to my elbows in Russell Stover heart shaped boxes of chocolates. I only like the coconut ones, so it's sort of unfortunate. Also, valentines seem to have gotten much more complicated over the years. The kids had hollographic cards and some that folded into field goal posts to play paper football. I was just thankful none of my kids bought the Bratz valentines -- I hate those with a passion.

My class is far from affluent, and we had no parent volunteers to plan the party. Knowing this, I just told the kids to bring whatever they could. We had about 14 kinds of cupcakes, brownies, chex-mix, and Spanish rice. Seriously, Spanish rice. It was rocking.

While the other classes' snobby moms passed out barfy-cute gift bags and decorated cakes, we had Spanish rice and watched Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown. It suited me perfectly.
The snobby moms might think we're lame, but I know we're the coolest!

This is adorable, Amber. Some thoughts:

1. Who likes the coconut ones? You'll make some man so happy one day. Some man who doesn't like the coconut ones but likes all the others.

2. Bratz. I want to poop on their faces!!!

3. Man, your class is the coolest.
